Russ Gibson - Owner

My name is James Russell Gibson, Jr.  I was born in Gastonia, NC a graduate of Ashbrook High School, Class of 1993. I attended school at UNC Charlotte with a four year degree in Criminal Justice.  After being in the work force for a few years, I decided to go to barber school.  I graduated from the Hairstyling Institute of Charlotte in 2001 and worked at a few shops in and around Charlotte.

While working at these shops was great, I decided to go out on my own with one of my friends, Jason Lineberger, and open a barbershop called City Barbers at Uptown LLC.  After 2 years of successful business, I decided to open a second location, City Barbers at Highland Creek. 

My ultimate goal is to give the best haircut in town while providing excellent customer service in a friendly and laid back atmosphere. If I can provide great service and a great hair cut at a reasonable price… then there is nowhere to go but up.  Hopefully one day you will see more and more City Barber’s shops around Charlotte!

Jason Lineberger

Jason was born and raised in Charlotte, NC.  He served in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne Division for three years, and attended Central Piedmont Community College, where he received his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice.  Jason graduated from barber school in 2001 and has been barbering ever since. 

Along the way, Jason has taken up hobbies in scuba diving, health and fitness, and professional mixed martial arts fighting.  Jason is currently training in the Emergency Medical Services at Rowan Community College to get his EMT license and serve part time for an EMS service or private agency.  He continues to maintain a higher education in the field of barber services and to uphold the highest standards of his profession to make City Barbers the best shops in Charlotte.

Nicole Johnson

Nicole Johnson is a proud mother of 16 year old twin boys.  As a young mother, Nicole knew she had to build a career for her family using the skills she had with hair, so she decided to attend the Hairstyling Institute in Charlotte, NC.  After graduating in 1999, Nicole has successfully been doing hair for 11 years now. 

 Over the last 11 years, Nicole has expanded her skills to become a certified "Master Barber", as well as certified in Bossier Razor cutting.  For all the ladies out there, Nicole also has certification for Wella Coloring.  So male or female, you are always going to get a professional cut you will love.

Rob Bumgardner

Rob was born in Shelby, NC and moved to Charlotte in 2001. In September of 2009, he graduated from Prestige Barber Styling Institute and just one month later began working at City Barbers.

Rob currently lives in uptown Charlotte with his wife Sarah and their young son Jonathan. In his free time he enjoys cooking, darts, golf and spending time with my family.
